There were only five executive committee members at the
meeting and the ANA bylaws require seven be present for a quorum.
Cathy Savage has been laying out the newsletter for quite a
while now and she started out as a volunteer. This is her line of work
and began charging $250 per issue. With the amount of work that goes into
laying out a newsletter that is 24 pages, she would like to propose a $350
minimum.

The McCallum Varsity came home last Friday night when they
did battle with LBJ at House Park.
McCallum came away a little tattered and bruised but brought home a victory
with a score of 56 to 6.
McCallum started the game off kicking to LBJ, but the Knight
defense let it be known that they were ready to play. The Knights D held LBJ to
3 and out on the Jaguars first possession. It didn’t take long for the

I first saw Orlando at Amy's Ice Cream the night it opened in September. He was driving off on a burnt orange Vespa. It was easy to make the connection with Taco Shack because he had the Taco Shack logo emblazoned on the back of the Vespa (see Vespa in picture).
Orlando and Yoli Arriaga, long-term residents of Allandale, are the proud owners of the popular Taco Shack restaurants you see springing up around town. The first one opened up 9 years ago in 1996 on Medical Parkway, just south of 45th St.

Last Thursday night at Nelson Field, the Knights did battle
with the Reagan Raiders. This was not only a district game to some folks but a
battle of bragging rights to some of the McCallum players and families. This has turned into another rivalry between
the two Austin teams much like the
McCallum / Anderson Taco Shack Bowl.
McCallum jumped out to an early lead after Reagan received
the opening kickoff and on their first offensive play fumbled the ball.

On Saturday morning, October 15, around 120 citizens
concerned about Shoal Creek Boulevard met with city staff to sort out the issues and come up with options. Starting
with 10 different choices for the basic restriping plan, attendees broke into
small groups to hash out the pros and cons and to make their tweaks. After
group presentations and general discussion, attendees voted on a total of 23
different variations. The vote tallied each person’s top 5 choices. The result
is a short list of the design alternatives that found the most favor. (continue)
