A co-worker friend told me about a recent break-in on Arcadia. Many valuables were stolen at the house.

This could be a case for our loss is your gain. Let me explain. We have a wonderful 7 year old female Blue Heeler dog "Lily" for whom we have to find a wonderful home. She would be a GREAT asset to have, especially with the break ins that are happening. Here's the story. We have 2 female dogs and as they age, their tolerance for each other decreases. Lily is VERY well trained, fully housebroken and protective of her family. She would alert you if someone was in the area and up to no good, as well as would be appropriately protective if your security were breeched. She is amazingly intelligent and good natured. She needs to go to a home where she can be the only dog, although she tolerates cats well. Please let me know if you might have a need for additional protection for your home and person! Then, of course, there was this horrendous act right down the block:

Austin police are looking for three men suspected of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl near Burnet Road and Koenig Lane in North Austin.

Investigators say three men in a beige Chrysler sedan approached the girl about 6 p.m. Jan. 10 as she walked from a bus stop across the parking lot of an H-E-B on Burnet Road. A back seat passenger in the car asked for her phone number, and she ignored him, police say. The man then got out of the car and grabbed the girl's arm.

Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to call child abuse detectives at 974-6679.
