The following note was forwarded along from Travis Travis County Commissioner Sarah Eckhardt's office:

Throughout the year KAB works with neighborhood beautification grant winners and many more community groups to improve public space throughout Austin. Highlights from some of these inspiring projects can be viewed at www.keepaustinbeautiful.org/nbg
It's hard to believe, but it is Neighborhood Beautification Grant time again
and time to start bringing groups' dreams to life. Each year neighborhood
associations, scouts/troops, and schools are invited to apply for a KAB
grant to improve their community. This year our deadline is 5pm on July 10th
and we anticipate a wide variety of projects. While KAB would love to fund
all of the projects only a select few will be granted funds to complete
their project this year, and we need your assistance to make this happen!
Keep Austin Beautiful would like to invite you to help review these
applications, and we hope that you will be able to join us as a judge for
the 2009 KAB Neighborhood Beautification Grants.
Your expertise working with the city, landscape and restoration projects,
and/or community groups is a big resource in the decision making process.
As in previous years, you will be provided a notebook containing the grant
applications (the week of July 13th-17th) for your review and then we will
meet as a group (for approximately 2 hours) to make the final grantee
selections.
I've created a poll to determine which date will fit into most of our
judges' schedules, and as soon as I've heard from the majority of judges,
we'll finalize a date. Please visit: http://www.doodle.com/igczq3fufigb92db
to share your availability.
Thank you for being a part of this rewarding program, and I'll look forward
to hearing from you!
