Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
November 19, 2009

The regular monthly Executive Committee (EC) meeting of the Allandale Neighborhood Association (ANA) was held on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 6:30 pm at Covenant Hall, 2nd Floor, Covenant Presbyterian Church, the President being in the chair and the Secretary being present.
In attendance were: Donna Beth McCormick, President; Peggy Maceo, Vice-President; Mary Jean Matus, Secretary; Diane Swinney, Treasurer; Paulette Kern, Dan Diener, Jason Kloc, George Roman
The meeting was called to order at 6:40 pm.
I. Agenda
Dan Diener moved that the agenda be approved; seconded by Paulette Kern; motion passed unanimously.
II. Meeting minutes
Jason Kloc moved that the Executive Committee meeting minutes from October 22, 2009 be approved; seconded by Dan; the motion passed unanimously.
III.Treasurer’s Report (Dianne Swinney)
$13,527.05 deposit account
$4,992.51 nonprofit business
$6,534.54 business savings
$2,000.00 CD 12-17 months
IV. President's Report (Donna Beth McCormick)
Donna reported on recent activities relating to the newsletter, as well as a community meeting at Lamar Middle School relating to Safe Routes initiative, updated the EC on Walmart at Northcross, and presented a sample letter to AISD Board recommending Lamar MS as a fine arts magnet.
V. Committee Reports
Safety (Laura DiCarlo)
Next Commander’s Forum moved to February 2, 2010.
Membership (Dan Diener)
Dan presented draft membership flyer for EC review/approval. Dan plans to have a membership table staffed during upcoming December concert in the park with Sarah Pierce; needs volunteers. George Roman made a motion that Dan be reimbursed for expenses relating to the purchase of a membership banner and badges not to exceed $300. Jason Bloc seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
Parks and Greenspace (Linnea absent)
Tom reminded the EC of the concert at NW Park on December 6 with Sarah Pierce.
Zoning (Paulette Kern)
Work continues on several cases; no specific updates to report.
ANC (Cynthia Keohane absent)
VI. Presentation by HEB on the Burnet Road Renovation (Leslie Lockett, Director of Public Affairs; lockett.leslie@heb.com; 421-1000)
VII. New Business
December 6 concert at NW Park with Sarah Pierce and friends. Open to the public/FREE.
Tom Linehan is organizing bike tours of Allandale.
VIII. Old Business
Joe Reynolds asked that a committee be appointed to review/revise the Articles for the ANA. Donna Beth appointed Joe as chairperson; committee members include Kay Newell and George Roman.
Dan Diener moved that membership dues be set at $15/household with a limit of 2 voting members per household. The motion was seconded by George and passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 pm.
