Lamar parents, feeder school parents, educators and interested community members. As a member of our school community, you may have heard about our development of a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program. This program will enable us to identify ideas for both educational (student, parent and community education, etc.) and physical improvements (sidewalks, crosswalks, traffic signals, etc.), in order to provide safer walking and bicycling conditions for our students. A Strategic plan has been formulated using the Sample Safe Routes to School Plan as a guide.
Four areas of concentration have been identified. Participants will break out into these task groups at the next meeting.
· Data Collection, (Surveys & Evaluation)
· Engineering Strategies
· Education, Encouragement, Enforcement
· Draft a Plan
