The TTI very clearly and unambiguously stated that the safety recommendation from other cities for roadways like this was Option 2. The "not enough data" contention comes from the fact that those cities didn't bother to measure motor vehicle speeds next to different types of bicycle facilities, not that there was any debate about what the safest design would be.

I, too, was present at the meeting. However, I did not see any 'back slapping' by ANA Exec. Comm. members. There were 3 of us there from the Exec. Comm. We were there because we all 3 have been involved since the Summer of 2000. The ANA Exec. Comm. has never taken a position on the Shoal Creek Boulevard issue.
